A quick update on one of my paintings tonight... with all the beautiful weather outside this week I haven't gotten as much painting done as I had wished. I did, however, add another layer to my grapey painting. Stay tuned for more updates.
Originally inspired by the warming spring days (though, the temperatures have been steadily decreasing again) and the poking up of spring flowers from the ground.... I painted this little guy with my favourite 'spring-y' colours: DS Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and DS Green Apatite Genuine. Though the cool weather has returned for (a few) days, the weather person has assured us that soon the warm weather will return.
I'm getting ever so close to finish this kitty portrait.... just a little bit more work on the neck and ears (oh... and the whiskers) and then there is nothing to do but wait for the frame I ordered to arrive.
I am (very) slowly getting back into the groove of painting and attempting to tackle my ever growing 'to do' pile. I've ordered frames for Malanka and for another memorial portrait, Spider, so I have given myself a bit of a deadline to get these painting finished. I'm almost finished Malanka's portrait... just a little more tweaking to be done on the cords around her face and perhaps some of the shadows around her favourite toy.
I'm happy to report that I am (finally) in my new place and the studio is (finally) almost completely unpacked and ready for some painting action. And... as you can tell from the photograph, Squiggy is probably wondering what took me so long.... that, or he just woke up from his beauty sleep.
