Vancouver Sunset - Work in Progress

Not a great photo... and a work in progress so it may be hard to see the details, but this is the first oil painting that I have worked on in over five months. The cats had a very long cat-nap this afternoon so I stole the opportunity to pull out the oil paints. It took a few minutes to get back in the grove of using oils... but, this is a good start. In a few days when the paint dries, I'll be adding another layer and I'll post an update then.

Autumn Days - Bird #13

Another quick little chickadee painting... this time with lots of colour! I spent most of the evening cutting watercolor paper for more watercolor paintings and priming canvas for oil paintings. I have been enjoying watercolours... but getting the itch to play with the oil paints again. We'll have to see how this is going to work with the cats.

Cooler Days - Bird #12

Another little lunch time painting tonight... It feels great to take a break from the more detailed paintings with these little guys. The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting cooler, and the trees are starting to ever so slightly turn colours. Its a wonderful time of the year (one of my favourites) and lots of fall themed paintings are in the planning stages.

Spider, Work in Progress

I have far too many paintings on the go... but I find that I can rotate through them so as I get frustrated with one I can move on to another. This one is a surprise for someone of their late kitty "Spider". I'm taking my time with this guy hoping to get a good likeness.
