Spider, Work Still in Progress

I don't have a finished painting tonight... so, I thought I would post an update on my kitten painting. Work on this guy has been slow and steady (in between the bird paintings) but I've been happy with the result so far. My goal is to have Spider (the kitty) finished in time to send him to his home by Christmas. Time is slowly running out... I better pick up the pace.

Burst of Colour - Bird #19

It took a few days longer than I hoped to finish and post this one... things have been super busy at work and I just didn't have the energy to paint. But, feeling a bit more energetic tonight so I put the final touches on this little guy. Lots of fun painting all the leaves and all the bright colours on these really rainy days.

Icy Perch - Bird #18

Winter isn't quite here... but, the cool evenings and earlier sunsets have me thinking of the snowy winter to come. I'll have some more autumn-y paintings over the next little while.

Clear Skies - Bird #17

The evenings have been bitterly cold lately... setting new record lows in my area... hence the desire to paint cooler feeling pictures. I've been experimenting with different washes of blue to capture the cooler autumn evenings. This one was a combination of ultramarine blue, indigo, and turquoise (all Daniel Smith paints). I've also added a touch of duochrome saguaro green in the feathers on this little guy for an extra little bit of sparkle.
