This first picture is of my initial drawing/sketch stage. There were a few lines that weren't quite right that were fixed before the first coat of paint.

This next pictures shows the beginning of my griselle layer. The griselle layer will help the define the shapes and depth of the painting. This is a new technique for me so lots of learning going on here! My griselle layer is painted using titanium-zinc white, raw umber, ivory black and gamsol. I still have lots left to paint and many omre details to add. I'll post the progress pictures as I go.

Madelaine I am keen to see how you handle this technique as I am also doing the same. I am finding it has a steep learning curb to it.
